About St Lucian Spirit

St. Lucian Spirit Carnival Band has been in the Carnival Arena for over thirty years now. Over the years the Band has won many titles: Band with the best Spirit, Band of the year, Best design, Most Colourful Band, King of the Bands, Queen of the Bands, Junior Queen, Junior King.  The Band caters to all carnival lovers and there is a costume to suit everyone. We aim to please our revellers and provide an exciting atmosphere to play Mas in St. Lucia.  

The band has been under the leadership of Joan Hinkson from its inception and whereas the faces of some executive members have changed one thing still endures. The executive is mostly female. At the 2010 St.Lucia Independence Awards, Joan Hinkson was awarded The Saint Lucia Medal of Merit (Silver) SLMM for her contribution to the arts and culture.

In every society there are events that shaped the society and landmarks that have made a difference. These events we read about or hear of from our elders. Some landmarks have disappeared from our landscape while others have been nurtured and still remain.
